The men’s 4th team continued their winning streak in a hard-fought contest against Triton. We took a while to get going in the first half and were guilty of running into flat sticks too often. Nevertheless, we took the lead after a charging run and tomahawk shot from Sammy M looped in to get us going. Triton were well organised and always a menace, and they levelled things up 10 minutes later after a goalmouth scramble was tucked away. This got Triton’s tails up, and we were soaking up pressure for the remainder of the first half, although their clear-cut chances were limited. A breakaway run from Deeside right on the stroke of half-time led to a short corner, which was converted by Matt C to leave us 2–1 up at the interval.

In the second half, we controlled the game much better and extended our lead thanks to a rocket from Albie C. We really should have scored more and would have done but for some excellent keeping from the Triton keeper and some questionable finishing from our forwards, who have resolved to do better next week. Arlo C was solid between the sticks and Charlie C picked up his customary green card, although he did promise that it’s absolutely out of his system now and that’s the last one of the season...
