On another soggy away day the Men's 4s put 11 goals past Knutsford 2s without reply. Scoreline aside, we didn't actually play that well (yes I'm still confused about it all too) and have played much better hockey in recent weeks. After a warmup that went on a tad too long in driving rain, we started quickly and were soon scoring. Knutsford's keeper actually had a great game, with several impressive saves keeping the score from getting properly out of hand.
Goals from Matt C (2), Rob C (1), Del (3), Charlie (1), Angus (2), Albie (1) and Jack (1) contributed to our biggest win for a long time. Matt C kept the ball moving in midfield with Del happy to throw himself around in the hunt for goals. Arlo had a quiet game but was there when we needed him, though it was a £5 fine all round when he actually had to touch the ball.
As for not playing well, it was a struggle to get any 'flow' to the game, and we were guilty at times of carrying the ball into contact and then getting bogged down. A win's a win, though!
MOTM: Matt C for being excellent at the game of hockey on this particular occasion.
DOTD: Rob for forgetting both his shoes and also how to score (again).
Next up: Macclesfield 3s, 10.30 at DRHC on 11th Oct.
