The M4s suffered their first defeat against a strong Sandbach side on a cold, wet Saturday afternoon. We were slow to get going, with some lapses in concentration allowing Sandbach to score three well worked goals without reply in the first half.

After some spirited discussion at half time we resolved to do better, Sandbach then immediately scored and we were 4-0 down. This was the rocket we needed, however, and from that point on we were the better side. Del scored two typical poachers goals to get it back to 4-2 with 15 minutes to go. Despite sustained pressure with some great hockey played, we couldn't convert our chances and Sandbach's resolute defending ensured the final score was 4-2.
