DRHC M4s started the 2025-26 season with a hard fought win against a determined Triton side at Tiverton. Deeside started so quickly that the spectators had barely taken their seats before the ball was in the back of the net. We were in such shock at this remarkable turn of events that we proceeded to miss chance after chance for the next 20 minutes before Rob bagged his 2nd with an 'untidy' finish, shall we say.
Triton then pegged us back for the remainder of the half and despite determined defensive work from Jack and Co, Triton got a goal back to leave us 2-1 at half time.
Tritons press kicked up a gear in the 2nd half and we struggled to work our way up the pitch, their 2nd goal drew things level however a quick break following good work from Matt and Sam led to a penalty flick which Sam deftly converted for 3-2.
Triton then scored again leaving us level with 7 minutes to play. Up stepped Angus to score from a short corner with what can only be described as an absolute screamer of a finish to edge us back into the lead. Triton pushed us all the way, what we needed with 20 seconds to go was some nice calm play to see the game out. What we got was the most unnecessary of unecessararials from Charlie Clarke which was lucky not to lead to a penalty corner. Nevertheless, we prevailed and Charlie earned himself a unanimous DOTD.
MOTM: Jack H for tireless defensive work
Next up: Sandbach 1s away, 12pm pushback.
