The Men's 4s fielded another youthful side, and Del, against Chester 4s in our final pre season game. A solid first half with goals from Rob, Del and Sam ensured a healthy 3-0 lead at half time. A 2nd goal for Rob early in the second half for 4-0 should have been unassailable. At this point, however, a combination of Chester starting to play better hockey and Deeside forgetting how to play altogether lead to three very quick Chester goals.
Our nerves were settled with 10 minutes to go by Del, who redeemed himself after fluffing a glorious chance at 4-0, to put us back to a 2 goal advantage. A questionable short corner for Chester in the dying seconds was then converted, with the final score being 5-4.
Triton are next up on the 13th, 10.30am at DRHC for the first game of the season.
