The newly promoted 4th team continued their fine form from last season with a well-deserved victory against a strong Didsbury side yesterday. We were quick out of the blocks, with Hayto converting an early PC. We were then unlucky not to be awarded another PC; Didsbury capitalised, raced down to the other end and won a PS, which was converted. Pete L then slotted a good finish into the bottom corner before Didsbury scored again. After this, we kicked up a gear, with Didsbury unable to respond. A goal each from Del and Hayto left us 4-2 up at the interval.

In the 2nd half, we consolidated our hold on the game. We played some great hockey, constantly winning the ball and applying pressure from Didsbury 16s, whilst always threatening to score. Brief periods of Didsbury pressure came after a green card for Hayto for an agricultural tackle, and then a customary yellow for Charlie for berating a 12-year-old with some choice language. Nevertheless, 2 goals from Matt left us 6-2 victors on the day.
