The Club

One of the few clubs for men & women, in the country devoted solely to (Field) Hockey, Deeside Ramblers Hockey Club has its own astro pitch and club house. It is proud of its friendly atmosphere and has been privileged to receive the North West Hockey Umpires award of the Wilkinson Sword for hospitality and friendliness on no less than five occasions.

The club's principle is that it exists to provide games of hockey for members at a level those members want, through a club structure that has a clear direction and a long term viability

This has worked. The men's 1st play National League in Conference North while the 7th were cruelly relegated to North West Div. 10 South. The ladies range is a bit less dramatic but still considerable.

CWAC "Club of the Year"

Deeside Ramblers have been made Club of the Year by Cheshire West and Chester Council. At a ceremony last October, John Heath was presented with the trophy by The Mayor of Chester at a presentation evening at Ellesmere Port Civic Center.

This award is a real honour for the club and it is down to everyone's hard work that we were presented with this award over so many other deserving clubs. John can be seen receiving the award in the picture on the right.
