On Thursday November 18th at 1pm Ramblers 5th Primary School Tournament for local schools takes place on Ramblers all weather pitch at Tiverton, Tarporley. Bunbury Primary School are the holders of the trophy and will be defending it against a total of 11 other schools including Manley, Huxley, Tattenhall, Tarporley, Tarvin, Delamere, Eaton, Utkinton, Calveley, Vielsall and Duddon. Over 130 children will take part.
“Welcome to Deeside Ramblers Hockey Club, who are delighted to host this annual festival. We plan to expand it to include other primary schools in our area.
The Club link with Tarporley Communiy School and the Schools Development Officer, Joe Morphett, has been crucial in introducing the game of hockey to your children and the hard work of Coach, Lesley Moore, has clearly excited the interest of the children.
The Club has its own coaching regime for Primary School level at the Club on alternate Sunday mornings throughout the season which runs from September to Easter and the Club’s adult and junior sides have many members who have progressed through this coaching regime. The Club is particularly proud to have 3 junior members chosen as England Under 13’s in the last 12 months and they are proving an inspiration to other youngsters. The Club also has representatives at the County and Regional level, both boys and girls, too numerous to mention. At the adult level the Club’s Men’s 1st team play National League and the Women’s 1st team play one level below National League, a standard which the children can aspire to and achieve as they grow older. The current England hockey goalkeeper, James Fair, is a product of our junior section.
Deeside Ramblers Hockey Club are able to provide basic refreshments and has facilities within the Clubhouse at your disposal, DRHC junior Section will also make available the Season Registration Pack which contains information on the club and a Membership Application Form should you wish to pursue this as a sport, we do hope so.
Finally I hope all the children enjoy the event and this introduction to hockey”
John Heath – Club President
