Junior Training Times (all at the club grounds, Tiverton)

To take part in training, boys and girls must be members of the club and must wear shin pads and gum guards.

Boys and Girls U11 (up to and including school year 6)

We run two sessions for primary school children.

Starting Sept 9th – For all primary school children, including complete beginners: Sunday mornings, every other week. Usually from 10:30am – 12:00pm but timings may change in the event of a clash with club fixtures. Starting Wednesday 12th Sept for year 6 children (and stronger year 5s by invitation) who know the basics and want more challenge and matchplay, we also run training on Wednesday evenings, 5:30-7:00pm. Speak to a coach at Sunday training or email: drhc.juniors@gmail.com

Beavers (Boys and Girls mixed U12 & U13 – school years 7 and 8):

Badgers (Boys U14 & U15 – school years 9 and 10)

Starting September 3rd Monday nights – 19:30-21:00.

Girls 13yrs+ (school years 9 and older)

Most girls 13yrs and older play in the Ladies teams and train with them on Tuesday evenings 17:30 – 19:00 for 3rd and 4th team training; and 19:30 – 21:30 for 1st and 2nds, although some play in Badgers. In the first instance, contact the Ladies section via Anne Allwood – M:07779 153888 635857

Goalkeepers

Deeside Ramblers Hockey Club has been awarded the England Hockey ClubMark Accreditation. This is an audited and nationally recognised accreditation showing that the club is working towards providing a Safe, Effective and Child Friendly club environment.

England Hockey’s Player Pathway

The Player Pathway, formerly the Single System, was launched by England Hockey in October 2016. It provides a tiered series of local, regional and national coaching centres to help junior players realise their hockey potential. Full details are available on the EH website here.
We have many boys and girls at the club who are currently on the Player Pathway and we are always looking to put forward young club players who can benefit from it. Please ask your child’s coach if you would like more information.

Girls U12 Tournament

Girls U12 Tournament

The Under 12 girls did us proud today.  We took two teams to the In 2 tournament at Chester hockey club. Team 2 consisted of both year 6 and year 7 players.  The girls won 2, drew 1 and lost 1 to the eventual winners of the tournament.  This put us...
