Deeside Ramblers Hockey Club is the 5th hockey club in Cheshire to have recently been awarded the England Hockey Clubs 1st Accreditation. This award represents official recognition from Hockey's governing body that the club is working towards providing a Safe, Effective and Child Friendly club environment. It represents 18 months of hard work by the Coaches and Managers of Deeside's Junior Section in ensuring appropriate systems are in place to allow Junior players to enjoy and develop their hockey at the club in a safe environment. England Hockey Clubs 1st Accreditation is part of Sport England's Clubmark, the generic award for 32 sports, and is a nationally recognized accreditation.

Deeside Ramblers Hockey Club welcomes you to the 2010/11 hockey season; we hope that you are well rested following the summer break. In order to ensure that we maximise the playing season the junior management team have been in discussion with other Clubs to ensure that we reduce the number of cancelled games during the season. The Club is always keen for parents to get involved with the Junior Section particularly in the area of Coaching and Saturday Game Management and from our experience we have found that the more that get involved the less onerous it becomes and any contribution however small is invaluable.
As a guide to the areas in which we request your help, please see “Parent/Carer as Volunteer”, Page 5 of the
Member Pack. If you have a wish to contribute, please make yourself known to any Club Official or your child’s Coach.
