After a shaky last season the 4ths were looking for a solid performance, and what a season it was gaining promotion and only losing three games. Things took a turn for the worse when our 10 game unbeaten run was lost to Wilmslow on our home turf, this was followed a week later by another defeat to top of the league Wrexham but not to be deterred and heads up we went on to win the next four games. Highest scoring game was against Knutsford when we won 8-0! In summary this season’s stats are played 20 games, won 15, drew 2 and lost 3; we scored 70 magnificent goals and conceded 40.
The success of the 4ths came from a mix of youth coming in the form of Arthur Fair, Jamie Hallinan, Lewis Ankers, Lucas Galley, Jack Parker and Jack Hill. The youths were helped by the experience of Mike Cope, DJ, Pete Lawless, and even Piers on the rare occasion. The team was strengthened in the second half of the season with the occasional performances of Joe ‘half game’ Rooney (3 games 2 sin bins) Glyn, Jeeves and Rob.
Well done to all for a fantastic season both on and off the pitch and to our captain for his dedication, guidance and constant encouragement to turn up for training it all paid off in the end. We look forward to the new challenges we will face next season! Jack and Co
